Christmas 2025
Christmas was good. Early, Robert and I exchanged gifts. Robert gave me a pair of beautiful earrings by Everett and Mary Teller and a pile of books on hiking and ceramic glazes. I gave Robert a Birdweather PUC, a device you might have seen on your social media feeds. In addition to providing basic information about current weather conditions, it listens to and analyzes birdsong. Online, one can access a report of what birds it has detected throught the day. Our PUC is #20311 in case you’d like to see what’s near our back deck today.

In the late mornng and early afternoon we prepared to host Christmas dinner. Our friend Katie Mae did most of the cooking, but we smoked the turkey and I made my favorite casserole. At 3:30 Katie Mae and Rai arrived along with their friend Lyman. Shortly after, Dale found us and the party started. Rai brought an impressive collection of Christmas albums and served as DJ throughout the evening. Besides eating an incredible amount of delicious food, we gave a tour of our home and played Space Base. Towards the end of the evening we broke out the binoculars to look at Orion’s sword and Jupiter’s moons.
I hope you also had a good Christmas day. If you’d like to share a part of yours, please do so in the comments.
